Definition and derivation of carnivore

  1. any of an order (Carnivora) of typically flesh-eating mammals that includes humans, dogs, foxes, bears, raccoons, and cats.  Derived from Latin carnivorus “flesh-eating”

In English always used more of slaughters of men than beasts. Southey (1795) tried to make a verb of it.

Dr. Michael Clarage talks about his work with SAFIRE from a more philosophical perspective – what an empiricist might ponder outside the lab. He offers some intriguing if not startling observations about the astronomical and the biological, the dead and the living universe.

Essentially, examination of the universe using electron telescopes, combined with laboratory experiments concerning plasma energy have determined that our sun and stars are parts of an interconnected “living” organism connected through electrical plasma.  The macrocosmic universe exhibits behavior similar to that of a living cell with a purposeful intelligence.
