prophet — from Old French prophète, from Latin prophēta, from Greek prophētēs “one who declares the divine will”, from pro- ² + phanai “to speak”.
I think that we must each be our own “best prophets”. You are a “divine” eternal being. Only you can “speak” your own “divine will”. A self-anointed “prophet” may guide you to “the curtain”. However, you must agree that a curtain exists, and that you did not create it yourself. – LRS
