During 2009, the United States exported US$572.6 million worth of erectile dysfunction drugs including Viagra (also called sildenafil citrate). American consumers bought $807.7 million worth of erectile dysfunction drugs that same year. During the first 11 months of 2010, the United States shipped $709 million worth of erectile drugs including Viagra to a vast array of 96 countries around the globe. That figure represents a 35.9% gain over the $521.8 million in sales during the comparable period in 2009.

The following top 10 countries accounted for 87.8% of U.S. export sales of Viagra and similar drug products from January to November 2010.

1. Germany … US$119.9 million (16.9% of total sales, up 216.5% from same period in 2009)
2. Spain … $113 million (15.9% of total, up 19.7%)
3. Ireland … $89.8 million (12.7% of total, up 148.5%)
4. Netherlands … $79.7 million (11.2% of total, up 254.7%)
5. France … $47 million (6.6% of total, up 32%)
6. Canada … $46 million (6.5% of total, up 67.8%)
7. United Kingdom … $44.4 million (6.3% of total, down 57.1%)
8. Mexico … $39.4 million (5.6% of total, up 24.5%)
9. Japan … $30.7 million (4.3% of total, up 108.5%)
10. Belgium … $12.8 million (1. 8% of total, up 59.9%).
