The prophetic farewell speech by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on Jan.17,1961.warning American about the “military / industrial complex”. In the draft of his speech he originally wrote: “Military / Industrial /Congressional Complex”, but crossed the word “congressional” out before delivery his address as he didn’t want to “offend” his friends in Congress.
A few years later President John F. Kennedy gave us a prophetic warning about the nature of the “real” government:
