McDonald’s Former CEO Bell Dies at 44yrs. 

“McDonald’s Corp. (NYSE:MCD – news) said Charlie Bell, who stepped down as the fast-food chain’s chief executive in November to focus on his battle with cancer, died on Monday in his hometown of Sydney, Australia.  Bell, 44, died at about 7:30 a.m. (1530 EST), said a company spokeswoman in Sydney. It was at a McDonald’s restaurant in Sydney that Bell, whose personal motto was “Life is not a rehearsal, ” began his career with the chain at the age of 15.  A charismatic leader who said he ate a McDonald’s product most days, Bell was diagnosed with colorectal cancer just weeks after being named to the company’s top job in April.  He underwent two surgeries and chemotherapy, delegating authority to other senior executives, before relinquishing the post in November to undergo more intensive treatment.  The company’s first non-American CEO, Bell had succeeded Jim Cantalupo, who died suddenly of a heart attack after a little more than a year on the job. He was the company’s first CEO to have worked behind the counter since Fred Turner, who retired in 1987.”

DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE OVER THE RAINBOW & QUANTUM LEAP

 To go “Down The Rabbit Hole“ is to enter a period of chaos or confusion.  The expression is an allusion to Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, published in 1865.

“Over the rainbow” is a state of total, irrevocable madness or delusion.  The phrase is from the film “The Wizard of Oz“, in which Dorothy is transported into another world entirely unconnected from her reality.  The film is based on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,an American children’s novel written by author L. Frank Baum in 1900.

A “Quantum Leap” is when you find yourself in the middle of a situation where you have no idea what is going on, but everyone else around you assumes you do.

The term “quantum leap” is a reference to the TV show of the same name where the lead character is trapped in time and travels therein by leaping into the body of someone in the past, but having no idea who he is or why he is there. In order to leave the body, the lead character must figure out what “situation/conflict” must be resolved or wrong must be righted by the host body. The people around him assume he is the person whose body he occupies, so anything he does, the people around him think it is the host body doing it.

The Italian photographer, Angelo Musco, evokes the primordial essence of biological survival through his prodigeously meticulous photo shoots of hundreds of naked bodies, linked in chains and configurations that suggest procreation of the species of Man.  This is a fitting tribute and summary statement for the Spring Equinox, a time in the life cycle on Earth that invites and entices sexual interchange in nearly all species of life.  Enjoy the creation!  Enjoy the sensation!  Enjoy the myriad forms of Life!  However, do not forget that EVERY life form is animated by an eternal flame, the Spiritual Essence that is the true Source and Spark of Life.   The Spirit, animating the form IS Life!!

Vermeer: Portraits of a Lifetime is written from what I imagine to be the perspective of the artist himself, with his passion, with empathy for his personal dream and tragedy, as well as his transcendent technical ability.  As a writer my vision is to reveal the nature of the immortal spirit — The Artist — through their own thoughts, rather than through the effete, intellectual interpretations of academics or journalists.
Paintings are the communication of the artist, inviting the viewer to participate together in their mutual creation of it.  It is my observation, that this can be supplemented with verbal descriptions of the painting by the artist — not about the “meaning” of the art — but, concerning the esoteric origins of it, the subtle technologies and careful observations brought to bear upon the creation of it.  The “meaning” of the painting is a purely subjective experience for every viewer.  I want to understand, more completely, the subjective experience of The Artist.  I am certain that many admirers would also.
“Priests of Art” attempt to place themselves between Mankind and The Artist, as surely as the priests of religion prevent the souls of Mankind from communicating directly with the gods. In order to understand an aesthetic or a spirit, one must “be” The Artist, as themselves, while as a viewer, participating in The Creation, as though it is their own. Creation is a collaboration of spirits, painting and viewing together in admiration of All Beings Who Create.
